Twins 10, Yankees 1: Yanks’ Strength at Home, Power to Right, Is a Liability on the Road

MINNEAPOLIS — Most baseball teams are put together the way a homebuilder constructs a house, making sure its features fit with the people who inhabit it.

The Yankees are no different. Yankee Stadium’s invitingly short right-field wall is a welcome mat for left-handed sluggers and can be one for right-handed hitters who are willing to hit the ball the opposite way, so the Yankees’ roster is chock-full of them.

Alex Rodriguez, Mark Teixeira and Brian McCann have formed a formidable heart of the order, and even Chris Young, Brett Gardner and Stephen Drew have reached double figures in home runs.
