President Donald Trump attacked driver Bubba Wallace and NASCAR in a tweet Monday morning, baselessly alleging that Wallace perpetuated a "hoax" when a rope fashioned as a noose was found in his garage.
The president also criticized NASCAR's decision to ban the Confederate flag from races, claiming it had led to low ratings.
"Has @BubbaWallace apologized to all of those great NASCAR drivers & officials who came to his aid, stood by his side, & were willing to sacrifice everything for him, only to find out that the whole thing was just another HOAX?" Trump tweeted.
