Tom Izzo is an emotional, headstrong coach. Drew Sharp was an outspoken columnist with strong opinions.
On many occasions, they were adversaries. On Thursday, Izzo remembered the Free Press columnist who died unexpectedly last week from heart failure as a warm-hearted friend. Sharp was 56.
Izzo's eulogy was sincere and heartfelt: "It’s an honor. I’ve spoken at one other funeral in my life, and it was my father’s. So I consider this a privilege."

It was also quite humorous in remembering Sharp, who covered Michigan State before being promoted to columnist at the Free Press.
