FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Tom Brady surpassed Drew Brees' all-time NFL passing yardage record with a 28-yard completion to Mike Evans on Sunday night in his return to New England.
Brady came into the game against the Patriots just 68 yards away from passing Brees, so barring a disaster it was a near-certainty he was going to make this particular bit of NFL history at Gillette Stadium, the place he'd called his football home for nearly two decades, in front of the fans who once hung on his every attempt.
The Bucs called a timeout to honor the moment.
