Tiger to play Wyndham, hopes to make FedExCup

In an attempt to make the season-ending FedExCup playoffs, Tiger Woods is headed to Greensboro.

He announced last week he was considering playing in this week’s Wyndham Championship, and now it’s official.

Tournament director Mark Brazil tweeted the news Monday morning: “Bam! Tiger is coming!”

Woods fell to No. 286 in the World Golf Rankings after missing the cut in the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits, his third missed cut in a major this year.

The Wyndham is the last chance for players to earn enough points to get into the FedExCup Playoffs.
