Tiafoe Overcome With Emotion in Interview After U.S. Open Loss (Video)

Frances Tiafoe’s spectacular run at the 2022 U.S. Open was finally brought to an end in the semifinals by Carlos Alcaraz in a five-set thriller in front of a packed crowd at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Friday night.

The 24-year-old American held on for more than four hours, but couldn’t withstand a final surge from the 19-year-old Spaniard and No. 3 player in the field, falling 6–7 (6), 6–3, 6–1, 6–7 (5), 6–3 in a match that lasted until nearly midnight in New York City.
