The weekend the Cubs wrapped up the NL Central: An examination

Sunday was a monumental day in the sports world.

Dustin Johnson was brilliant down the stretch at the U.S. Open, closing out his first major championship as his closest competitors wilted at Oakmont Country Club and as the USGA looked incompetent by ludicrously waiting until after the round to decide if Johnson would be assessed a one-shot penalty that could have potentially cost him the title.

And, of course, later that evening LeBron James helped the city of Cleveland end its decades-long championship drought, as the Cavaliers finished their rally from a 3-1 series deficit to knock off Golden State in The NBA Finals and give the city its first pro sports title since the Browns won the 1964 Super Bowl.
