Texans WR Will Fuller suspended 6 games for performance-enhancing drug violation

Houston Texans wide receiver Will Fuller, one of the 4-7 team’s few bright spots this year, has been suspended six games for a violation of the NFL’s performance-enhancing substance policy.

The player announced the news himself on Instagram, insisting the violation was due to a medical professional mistakenly believing a prescription allowed by the NFL’s drug policy.

“Earlier this year, I sought treatment from a medical professional who prescribed medication that he believed to be permitted under the NFL’s drug policy,” Fuller said in his post. “As it turns out, my trust in this professional was misplaced because this medication was NOT a permitted substance under the NFL Policy on Performance Enhancing Substances.
