Texans Rumors: Jadeveon Clowney Not Expected at Minicamp Despite Franchise Tag

The Houston Texans are reportedly not expecting defensive end Jadeveon Clowney at their mandatory minicamp Tuesday as he holds out for a long-term contract.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the news. The Texans franchised Clowney this offseason, but he has not signed the tender, meaning he cannot be punished for missing mandatory workouts.

Clowney, 26, is scheduled to make $16 million under the franchise tag. The 2014 top overall pick recorded 47 tackles and nine sacks in 2018.
