Texans add former Patriots OL Jake Andrews to active roster off waivers

Another former New England Patriots player is headed to the Houston Texans ahead of the 2025 season.

According to the Texans' transaction wire, Houston has claimed Patriots center Jake Andrews off waivers following his release on Tuesday. A former fourth-round pick from Troy, Andrews started two seasons on the offensive line under Texans offensive line coach and run game coordinator Cole Popovich.

Andrews, 25, is coming off a torn meniscus last season. He’s still under his rookie contract, meaning he'll be with the Texans through 2026 should he make the active roster following training camp.
