When you are dancing through the French Open as young American Shelby Rogers is at the moment, the lights of Paris do beckon from time to time. But only when it makes sense.

So maybe the night after reaching your first-ever Grand Slam quarterfinal, handling all the media obligations that go with that and making it back to the hotel around 6 p.m. is not the time.

“There was no Champs-Elysees action tonight,” Rogers’ coach, Marc Lucero, told Sporting News.
