Less than 24 hours after Dino Babers was coaching Bowling Green to a 34-14 victory over Northern Illinois in the MAC Championship Game, it appears he is on the verge of accepting a new job.
Syracuse is planning to announce Babers as its new head coach, and the announcement could come as early as Saturday, according to ESPN's Joe Schad. Earlier in the week, USA Today's Dan Wolken reported that Babers was "the likely choice" at Syracuse.
Babers has been at Bowling Green for two seasons, going 18-9 and winning two division titles. His Falcons won their second MAC title in three years with Friday night's win.
