Synthetic marijuana added to NFL's list of banned substances

NFL players are now expressly prohibited from recording drug tests and will be tested for synthetic marijuana under revisions to the league's drug policy announced Wednesday by the NFL Players' Association.

Many will remember Steelers linebacker James Harrison recording his drug test administration and posting it on Instagram. The league and NFLPA "clarified" that "any form of recording" the test process is not allowed.

Several more substances were added to the league's prohibited list, including synthetic marijuana — also known as Spice and other names — and performance-enhancing substances including growth hormone secretagogues, growth hormone releasing hormones and peptides.
