Think of the table where Europe's premier and elite clubs figuratively sit at the most dysfunctional Thanksgiving table you can imagine (and forgive the cross-cultural analogy).
The days and weeks leading up to the holiday have been a mess. There's been infighting, there's been name-calling, there's been back-stabbing, there's been stubbornness and some have been pushed to the point of no return. The head of the table has even referred to some of those around him as "spoiled children." And yet the meal must go on, because they're all here, the calendar demands it and they're all in this together, for better or worse.
