NBA diehards, those rare sorts constantly found on Twitter but rarely seen in public, are up in arms, yet again, about the league’s playoff system. It’s one that allows the 38-44 Brooklyn Nets to make the playoffs but forces the defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs (55-27) to face-off against one of the league’s other top teams, the 56-26 Los Angeles Clippers, in a No. 3 vs No. 6 matchup in the first round of the playoffs.
They complain that the sub-.500 Boston Celtics are in the east’s playoffs but the 45-37 Oklahoma City Thunder aren’t in the west’s.
