In his 99th career start, Kyle Larson finally found victory lane in the Sprint Cup Series.
Chase Elliott beat Larson off pit road by half a car length during the final green-flag pit stops of the Pure Michigan 400. But like the Michigan race in June, Elliott couldn't get his car going in the final restart. Larson took the lead with nine laps remaining and held on for his first career win.
With the victory, Larson punches his ticket to the Chase, taking a valuable spot away from drivers on the top-16 bubble, including Elliott, who finished second.
