The Carolina Hurricanes signed the first-round draft pick Noah Hanifin to a three-year contract. Hanifin, a defenseman, will make $832,500 in the N.H.L. or $70,000 in the minor leagues through the 2017-18 season. Hanifin also received a $277,500 signing bonus.
