Sponsor of 'Save America's Pastime Act' withdraws support for bill one day later

Less than 24 hours after introducing a bill that would have assured minor-league baseball players would continue to earn salaries below minimum wage, U.S. Rep Cheri Bustos, D.-Ill., changed course.

It’s great news, of course. The bill was more than absurd, as we discussed in this space yesterday . Reaction was swift and emphatic throughout baseball Twitter.

It's great to see an elected official listen to and act on the views of the public.
