ASHLAND u2015 A high school football head coach vacancy has been filled in Boone County. Southern Boone Athletics announced Monday evening the hiring of Tyler Tanner for the 2025 season.
A William Baptist College baseball alum, Tanner spent the previous decade at Westran, where he was the Hornets' offensive coordinator for nine years. Westran averaged 25-plus points in six of those nine seasons. Last year, Westran finished 8-3, averaging 28.6 points per game. He was also the head coach of the baseball program for five seasons.
“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Tanner to the Southern Boone family,” Southern Boone Activities Director Trent Tracy said in a press release by the Southern Boone School District.
