If this season has shown us anything so far, it’s that the American League has few elite teams, and the majority of the squads are fighting for position in the middle of the pack. As a result, the early divisional battles have become even more interesting.
This season, the AL West is as wide open as it has been in recent memory, with no team having a clear advantage over the others. The Angels, after a strong start, have fallen back from the rest of the group. But entering play Friday, just two games separate first place from fourth in this division, and there has already been plenty of jockeying for position.
