Sevyn Streeter was back in Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Arena on Friday night to sing the national anthem, again wearing her "We Matter" jersey. Her victory was complete.
Streeter became a national story two months ago when the 76ers canceled her anthem appearance on opening night because of the shirt, a nod to the Black Lives Matter movement.
The NBA team later apologized to the R&B star and invited her back to sing. She took the mic prior to the Sixers' game against the Lakers, which was being broadcast on ESPN.
Streeter was pleased to finally perform.
