WIMBLEDON, England — As Serena Williams attempts to write history once again, it is hard to blame her for recycling a few old scripts.
In the third round at the French Open, Williams came from a set down to defeat Victoria Azarenka. In the quarterfinals at Wimbledon on Tuesday, Williams did it again, defeating Azarenka, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Azarenka, who has slowly regained her form this year after missing most of last season with an injury, started the match in imperious form, putting Williams’s bid to to win all four Grand Slam events in a year in jeopardy.
