The delay led to speculation over whether Lynch was leaving the door open for himself to return in 2016, but that can be laid to rest now.

Lynch spent six of his 10 NFL seasons in Seattle, rushing for 6,347 yards and 57 touchdowns as a member of the Seahawks. Seattle acquired him in a 2010 trade with Buffalo, which selected him out of California with the 12th overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft.
