TURIN, Italy (AP) Juventus’ transfer campaign has taken another hit with the announcement that Czech Republic forward Patrik Schick will not be joining the club due to a reported heart problem.
The Champions League runner-up says it ”confirms that, in agreement with Sampdoria, it has decided not to finalize the transfer.”
Schick began medical exams with Juventus in June and was checked again last week.
Juventus was prepared to pay Sampdoria a transfer fee of 30 million euros ($35 million) for the 21-year-old Schick, who scored 11 goals for Sampdoria in his first season in Italy.
