The New York Jets traded quarterback Sam Darnold to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for a package of draft picks on Monday.
New York will receive:
- 2021 sixth-round pick (No. 226 overall)
- 2022 second-round pick
- 2022 fourth-round pick.
The 23-year-old spent his first three seasons with the Jets after being the No. 3 overall pick in the 2018 draft. After showing promise in each of his first two seasons, he regressed in every major category in 2020, ranking as one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL in every major category and advanced stats.
