New York (AFP) - The Kansas City Royals snapped a 30-year World Series title drought Sunday by defeating the New York Mets 7-2 in 12 innings to capture the best-of-seven Major League Baseball final four games to one.

Trailing 2-0 in the ninth inning, the Royals rallied to equalize and broke open the game with five runs in the final inning, staking their claim as the greatest comeback kings in major league playoff history.
