Matt Harvey was every bit the ace his Mets teammates needed him to be on a tense Sunday night in Queens. Facing elimination against Kansas City in Game 5 of the World Series at Citi Field, Harvey pitched eight shutout innings, but the Royals battled back in the ninth and eventually won the game, 7-2, in 12 innings to win their second World Series and and first since 1985.
The Royals made it to the World Series last season, but fell to the San Francisco Giants in the seventh game.
