Udinese edged Juventus, 1-0, in Turin on Sunday as Juventus’s bid for a record-equaling fifth successive Italian league title started with the team’s first loss in 48 Serie A home matches.

Juventus dominated but was unable to finish any of its many chances. Udinese made the team pay when Cyril Thereau scored in the 78th minute on one of his side’s few opportunities.

In the evening matches, host Fiorentina eased past 10-man A.C. Milan, 2-0, and Sassuolo beat Napoli for the first time in Serie A, coming from behind to notch a 2-1 win at home.
