Roundup: Blue Jays Overpower Rays, Getting the Better of a Pitcher Who Had Their Number

Josh Donaldson hit a two-run homer, Justin Smoak added a three-run homer later in the fifth inning Friday night, and the host Toronto Blue Jays beat the Tampa Bay Rays, 6-2.

The Blue Jays won for the first time in five meetings with the Rays right-hander Jake Odorizzi (5-6), who entered the game 2-0 with a 2.00 E.R.A. against Toronto. He allowed six runs and six hits in four and a third innings, matching a career high with five walks.

Grady Sizemore homered for Tampa Bay, which had won three straight games before the All-Star break.
