Rory McIlroy waited until the end of the 2015-16 PGA Tour season to play his best golf, but boy did his timing pay off.
McIlroy shot a 6-under 64 on Sunday at the Tour Championship and eventually won a sudden death three-way, four-hole playoff over Ryan Moore and Kevin Chappell to not only clinch the title at East Lake but also win the FedEx Cup.
McIlroy had an opportunity to clinch both titles with a short eagle putt on the first playoff hole and then a long birdie putt on the second.
