Rory McIlroy is preparing for PGA Championship play

Jordan Spieth might snatch away the world No. 1 ranking at the Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio this weekend, but it looks like current No. 1 Rory McIlroy will return next week at the PGA Championship — just a month after rupturing ligaments in his left ankle. McIlroy shared some gruesome photos of his ankle after the injury, which occurred while he was playing soccer with his friends, but McIlroy is currently in Wisconsin practicing at Whistling Straits, the site of the 2015 PGA Championship.

McIlroy is officially listed in the field, and will tee off Thursday in a must-watch group alongside Spieth and British Open champion Zach Johnson.
