There are two ways to look at Ronnie O’Sullivan’s stumble into the semi-finals of the World Snooker Championship.
The first, to which O’Sullivan evidently subscribes, is that his erratic form will probably catch up with him soon enough and he will depart Sheffield still in search of answers.
The second, from which O’Sullivan’s army of fans can take hope, is that it is only a matter of time before a solid seven days and counting of match practice inside the Crucible awakens something within the greatest snooker player of them all. It might just have already happened.
