The mixed martial arts superstar Ronda Rousey announced Friday that her next victim, er, opponent, will be Holly Holm on Jan. 2 in Las Vegas.
Rousey told “Good Morning America” that Holm would be her “biggest challenge to date.”
Holm, 33, has had a long career as a professional boxer, winning several welterweight titles. In 2011, she began competing in mixed martial arts and has a 9-0 record.
Her two fights in the U.F.C. came in February, when she beat Raquel Pennington, and July against Marion Reneau. Neither opponent is especially heralded, and Holm herself is currently ranked only No.
