In a stunning transaction by a team expected to add pitching rather than augment the major leagues' best offense, the Toronto Blue Jays acquired All-Star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki from the Colorado Rockies early Tuesday morning.
In return, the Rockies will receive shortstop Jose Reyes and minor leaguers, according to Fox Sports.
The deal ends the Tulowitzki era in Denver, where the 6-foot-3 shortstop earned five All-Star honors and helped lead the Rockies to a surprising berth in the 2007 World Series. Only Todd Helton and Larry Walker are more decorated players in the Rockies' 23-year franchise history.
