RG3 leaves with stinger, possible head injury

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III exited Thursday's preseason game against the Detroit Lions after being shaken up by a hit while attempting to recover a fumble.

Lions defensive end Corey Wootton tackled Griffin and appeared to land on his left shoulder. Griffin remained on the field for several minutes while medical staff attended to him, though he walked off with trainers and gave fans a thumbs-up signal.

The team ruled Griffin out with a stinger, though it was unlikely he would have played beyond the remainder of the series. He also was being evaluated for a head injury.
