Reports: MLB to propose 2020 season plan to union within a week, with a July opening day best-case scenario

Some smoke is slowly starting to emerge over what the MLB is planning to do with its suspended 2020 season amid the coronavirus pandemic.

MLB plans to present a plan for the 2020 season to the MLB Players Association within the next week, according to reports from The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal and the New York Post’s Joel Sherman.

The pie-in-the-sky hope for returning to action is reportedly an opening day in early July, with a second spring training in June.
