Report: QB Austin Davis to work out for Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are expected to bring in free agent quarterback Austin Davis for a workout, according to DallasCowboys.com.

The Cowboys are currently in search of another player to bolster their quarterback depth after starter Tony Romo suffered a fractured bone in his back. Currently, Dak Prescott and Jameill Showers are the only healthy quarterbacks on the roster.

Davis was cut by the Cleveland Browns before the 75-man roster deadline. He went 0–2 in his two starts with Cleveland last season, throwing just one touchdown and three interceptions.

The 27-year-old made his biggest impact with the Rams in 2014, playing in 10 games, including eight starts, and throwing for 2,001 yards, 12 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
