Newly-hired Mets general manager Jared Porter admitted on Monday night to sending harassing, explicit texts to a female reporter in 2016 while he was the Chicago Cubs’ director of professional scouting, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan and Mina Kimes.
Porter reportedly sent the woman — who spoke to ESPN on the condition of anonymity — more than 60 unanswered texts at one point before allegedly sending a lewd photo of an erect penis.
Porter, 41, at first denied sending the woman any photos when asked by ESPN, though later said that “the more explicit ones are not of me.
