Report: LSU fires head coach Les Miles after 12 seasons

LSU has fired head coach Les Miles and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger reports.

Dellenger reported earlier Sunday that “[a]n extensive evaluation of the program, normally reserved for after the season, is unfolding in Baton Rouge.”

Defensive line coach Ed Orgeron, who was previously Ole Miss’s head coach and the interim head coach at USC, will be the interim head coach, Dellenger adds.

The decision comes after Miles bungled the clock management at the end of Saturday’s game. LSU appeared to have scored a game-winning touchdown as time expired but the officials determined after a review that the ball was not snapped in time and the touchdown did not count.
