Cam Newton thinks NFL officials are missing too many penalties on defenders taking cheap shots at him, and he says he doesn't get the protection given to other quarterbacks.
But Pro Football Talk reported Monday that a source says the league keeps track of instances where officials miss a roughing the passer penalty. According to the report, officials have missed three roughing the passer penalties on the Panthers quarterback since the start of the 2013 season. The source claims that 11 other quarterbacks have experienced more missed calls.

Newton vented his frustration after the Panthers' win over Arizona Sunday, saying he plans to talk to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell about what he calls a double standard.
