Report: Cowboys benching Weeden for Cassel

Brandon Weeden is heading back to the bench and Matt Cassel is getting another shot to start in the NFL.

According to ESPN's Dan Werder, the Cowboys will start Cassel against the Giants two Sundays from now, as the team is currently on its bye week. Weeden started all three games after Tony Romo went down with a broken clavicle during the second game of the season.

I was told that if #Cowboys started Matt Cassel over Brandon Weeden, it would be to bring some positive energy to the offense

The Cowboys lost all three games that Weeden started, but it's tough to pin all of those losses solely on Weeden.
