The Blue Jays agreed to terms with 23-year-old Cuban defector Lourdes Gurriel, reports Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com. As for the terms:

Lourdes Gurriel is the younger brother of Astros third baseman Yulieski Gurriel, who hit .262/.292/.385 in 137 plate appearances late in the season for Houston. The elder Gurriel was 32 when he was signed.

Lourdes' relative youth netted a longer-term deal. It is reminscent of Jorge Soler's eight-year, $30 million deal in the low per-year value while making sure to have the player under control for more years in the case he needs several in the minors before hitting the bigs.
