TAMPA, Fla. — There were still about 10 minutes left in Game 6 of the N.H.L.’s Eastern Conference finals on Tuesday night, and Henrik Lundqvist could feel his concentration slipping far from his net at Amalie Arena.
That is a cardinal sin in any sport, but the Rangers had just scored three times in four minutes and broken the will of the Tampa Bay Lightning, staking Lundqvist to a four-goal lead. Even as he allowed two pucks to get past him in the waning minutes of the Rangers’ 7-3 victory, his mind was headed to a place where he reigns supreme: Game 7 at Madison Square Garden.
