Rangers Swap Forwards and Trade Away Cam Talbot

The Rangers were active on the trade market on Saturday, sending the backup goaltender Cam Talbot to the Edmonton Oilers for three draft picks and dealing the speedy forward Carl Hagelin to Anaheim for forward Emerson Etem.

Talbot, 28, was an effective replacement in goal when Henrik Lundqvist missed two months with a vascular injury in his neck this past season, Talbot’s second as a Ranger. The Rangers, who also sent Edmonton a seventh-round pick, received a second-round pick, a third rounder and a seventh rounder (Nos. 57, 79 and 184) from the Oilers.

In exchange for the 59th and 179th overall draft picks and Hagelin, a restricted free agent with arbitration rights, the Rangers received Etem, also a restricted free agent, as well as pick No.
