Rangers remove Yu Darvish from game as 'precaution' with shoulder tightness

Texas Rangers ace Yu Darvish was removed from Wednesday night's game against the Houston Astros after five innings with tightness in his right shoulder.

Darvish was having a solid outing when, 76 pitches into his 95-pitch limit, he was seen shaking his right arm after throwing a 63-mph curveball to strike out George Springer. He walked Jose Altuve in the next at-bat, prompting a conference at the mound, but stayed in the game. He retired Carlos Correa on a flyout to end the inning.

Shawn Tolleson came out in the sixth to replace Darvish.
