Texas Rangers fans have been waiting for the debut of Joey Gallo, and they were not disappointed when it came.
Joining the team because of a thumb injury to the regular third baseman Adrian Beltre, Gallo was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, a walk and four runs batted in on Tuesday night in Arlington, Tex.
In his first at-bat, Gallo, 21, smacked a ball through first baseman Adam LaRoche. Scored a hit, the single brought in Texas’ first two runs in an eventual 15-2 rout.
Gallo’s second time up brought a 430-foot upper-deck shot, which gave him two more R.
