Rain shuts down Charlotte Motor Speedway; hopes remain for Saturday

There will be no racing on Friday at Charlotte, where officials announced postponement and cancellation of racing and practices.

With the exception of a few hours in the afternoon and late night, rain is forecast all day. Thanks to weather driven by Hurricane Matthew, Charlotte Motor Speedway is socked in. There was no immediate word regarding the rescheduling of Friday's scheduled Xfinity series race or its starting lineup.
