Raiders topple Buccaneers in overtime despite NFL-record 23 penalties

The Oakland Raiders have an infamous reputation for being one of the NFL's most penalized teams. Well, they fit the part Sunday.

The Raiders were penalized 23 times for 200 yards in Sunday's 30-24 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium. The 23 accepted penalties set a new NFL single-game record.

Left tackle Donald Penn, who caught a 1-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter, was penalized three times in the game, though a holding call in overtime was canceled out by a Buccaneers penalty.

A holding penalty on guard Gabe Jackson in overtime would have set the record, but it was declined.
