Player Ratings: United States (1) vs. Haiti (0)

After yet another poor start, the United States men’s national team improved in the second half and defeated a Haiti team that was unlucky not to earn a result in the game. For the first 30 minutes, Haiti was by far the better team, and the United States was on its heels.

By the end of the first half, however, the U.S. began to find its rhythm. The turning point came when Gyasi Zardes entered the game to start the second half and assisted on Clint Dempsey’s goal. Zardes was part of the best opportunities for the United States throughout the half.
