TORONTO — Paul Pierce was public enemy No. 1 in his return to Air Canada Centre.
With Toronto Raptors fans booing him relentlessly, Pierce scored 20 points on seven of 10 shots in a little more than 36 minutes, including four 3-pointers, to lead the Washington Wizards to a 93-86 win against the Raptors. The win gives Washington a 1-0 lead in the Eastern Conference playoffs first round series. It was a similar performance to last season when Pierce scored nine of his 15 points in the fourth quarter to give the Brooklyn Nets a Game 1 win against the Raptors.
